Under the Erasmus + project “Modernization of the Institutional Management of Research and Innovation in the Andean Region and Latin America” -MIMIR Andino-, co-financed by the European Union, during March 9, 10, and 11 of this year, the Colombian Association of Universities (ASCUN) made a study visit to the University of Extremadura, in its headquarters located in Badajoz and Cáceres in Spain.
The purpose of this exercise was to know, first-hand, how innovation management and research are developed in this renowned Spanish public institution. Along with the ASCUN representatives, there were people from Chile and Peru.
The University of Extremadura has 13 university research institutes, relies on scientific culture and an office for international research projects that, in conjunction with the European Union, its institutions and regional governments, work together to achieve the progress they have today in research.
With the visit, the project consortium seeks to enrich the innovation and research management model that will be developed for Latin America, through learning the good practices of this institution. It should be remembered that ASCUN is the coordinator of the project.
